Scholarship Criteria

Scholarship Award

The Warren JeMarcus Williams Foundation provides tuition scholarships of up to $1,500 annually to students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited a 2 or 4-year college or university of their choice. We also provide book scholarships of up to $500.00.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Warren JeMarcus Williams Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be a graduating, high school senior; or currently enrolled in a two or four-year institution within the United States;

  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved two or four–year institution within the United States;

  • Show leadership potential;

  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service;

  • Present evidence of financial need;

  • Be a United States citizen;

  • A minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21; and

  • Not possess a degree from a 4–year College when applying for the scholarship.

Application Components

The required components of the Warren JeMarcus Williams Foundation application are:

  • A completed and submitted application;

  • One (1) letter of recommendation;

  • SAT or ACT scores sent to the Foundation

  • High School or College academic transcript

Instructions for the Application's Essay Section

You may wish to type and save your written responses to the required questions in a word processing program (e.g. Microsoft Word) and then copy them into this form. This will allow you to utilize its spelling and editing features while drafting your responses.

For each essay question, you will have a total of 500 words (2500 characters) to respond.

FALL Semester:

June 1 - 11:59 PM EST - Deadline for submission of all application components

July 1 - All applicants will be notified of their status by this date.

SPRING Semester:

October 4 – 11:59 PM EST – Deadline for submission of all application components
October 20  – All applicants will be notified of their status by this date.

We will send out decisions electronically to the email address you provided on your application on or before July 1 or October 20, depending on the application period. If you do not receive an e-mail from us before the end of the day on those dates, please e-mail us.

If you have previously been awarded a scholarship, you are eligible to reapply as long as you continue to meet the above criteria.
